Professional Biography
Yan Perchuk is a producer, composer, mixing and mastering engineer, and educator based in Los
Angeles. For more than 20 years, he's worked with artists, record labels, filmmakers, and music libraries
around the world, building a career that spans commercial records, television, film, and production music.
His credits include collaborations with Shaggy, Stanley Clarke, Biréli Lagrène, Jean-Luc Ponty,
MonoNeon, Ledisi, Ruelle, Wax, Iveta Mukuchyan, Diarra Sylla, Karen Souza, Ruslan Sirota, Gary Novak,
and many others. His work has been released through Universal Music Group, Walt Disney Records, Dim
Mak, Impulse Records, BMG, and other major labels, while his music has appeared in productions for
Netflix, NBC, MTV, History Channel, E! Entertainment, and numerous television and film projects. He also
contributed to Stanley Clarke's Grammy-nominated album Last Train to Sanity.
Although Yan loves working in the studio, teaching has become one of the most rewarding parts of his
career. He enjoys helping students move beyond simply learning software or copying tutorials. His goal is
to help them become confident listeners, creative problem solvers, and independent thinkers who
understand not only how to make production decisions, but why they make them.
Whether he's producing a record, mixing a film score, or teaching in the classroom, Yan believes the most
valuable skill any musician can develop is the ability to listen with intention, stay curious, and never stop
learning.
